  • Firstly, wash the burette, and then fill it with H2SO3 and make it clamped to the stand.
  • A measured amount of NaCl solution is added to a conical flask.
  • Now add a few drops of an indicator inside the conical flask.
  • As the dropper of the burette is opened the drops of acid will start dropping in the flask and the reaction will start.
  • When a slight color change is an observed stop the burette dropper. This happens when the equivalence point is reached.
  • The equivalence point is when the mole of acid is equal to the mole of the base, this will indicate the end of the reaction.
  • The estimation of the salt is done by the formula- VNaCl SNaCl = VH2SO3 SH2SO3.
